Belgium-based online payment processing services provider Ogone Payment Services has closed a partnership with Belgian Railways (NMBS/SNCB) to develop a new version of the iPhine mobile app which allows passengers to purchase train tickets via their mobile devices.

As a result of the agreement, Ogone, an Ingenico company, announced the launch of the new Belgian Railways (NMBS/SNCB) app enabling iPhone users to purchase their tickets on the go thanks to Ogone’s in-app payment library, which can be embedded into a native mobile app.

The NMBS/SNCB already uses a mobile app delivering real-time information through GPS technology and which has been downloaded more than 685.000 times. NMBS/SNCB customers can now purchase their Belgian Railways train tickets, without leaving the page, within the journey planner app and complete their payments by Visa or MasterCard.

The app also offers the possibility for clients to save their personal and payments data after the first use, should they wish not to re-introduce them in the future, with the exception of the CVC code. Moreover, transactions can be conducted without relying on a Digipass.

In recent news, Ogone has upgraded its online fraud prevention package by introducing a new product dubbed Ogone Fraud Expert.
