Opera, Neomobile partner for direct carrier billing services

Opera Software has entered an agreement with Italian mobile commerce company Neomobile to provide users of the Opera Mini mobile browser with mobile payment services.

As part of the agreement, with Opera Commerce, a subsidiary of Opera Software, the Neomobile mobile payment system is set to be integrated into the Opera Payment Exchange (OPX). Neomobile is set to enable Opera Mini users to buy digital goods and services on their mobile devices through direct carrier billing. Transactions will be billed directly to users’ mobile-phone bills.

Neomobile was founded in 2007 and its mobile entertainment services are currently available in 11 markets, in Europe, Latin America and India. The group also provides mobile payment services in over 70 markets where the company offers its Onebip solution suite to web and mobile merchants.
