Parkmobile, Liberty PlugIns team up for pay by phone EV charging

Global provider of integrated services for pay by phone parking Parkmobile and Liberty PlugIns (LPI) have teamed to permit electric vehicles (EV) charging revenues to be collected via mobile phones. LPI is a non-network access services for applications, including EV service equipment, professional parking, storage and shipping.

As a result, the partnership is expected to enable drivers to use their mobile phones to pay for a charging session and deposit the money directly into the parking lot owners and operators existing merchant banking accounts.

The service is currently available for the iPhone, BlackBerry- and Android-powered devices.

Parkmobile’s offerings include mobile payments available via mobile devices or mobile apps for on- and off-street parking and digital parking permits. Its services are used in 100 cities globally.
