Paydiant, Future POS launch integrated m-wallet service

Tuesday 1 October 2013 07:53 CET | News

Paydiant, a provider of cloud-based mobile wallet, has joined forces with restaurant and hospitality point-of-sale (POS) company Future POS, to integrate its mobile wallet offering with the latter’s POS system.

Under the terms of the deal, a number of Future POS customer locations are set to be able to provide mobile payments in a number of checkout scenarios including pay-at-the-counter, pay-at-the-tablet/handheld and pay-at-the-table.

Consumers can use an iPhone or Android smartphone to download the Future POS mobile wallet app and link their preferred payment cards to the wallet. Customers then scan a QR code presented to them at the point-of-sale or on a tablet running an instance of Future POS at the table. From there, customers use their mobile device to choose which offers to redeem and which card type to use to complete the transaction. Future POS restaurants can also accept payments from and distribute offers to customers using mobile wallets issued by Paydiants bank and financial institution partners. Paydiants cloud-based mobile payment process provides security by eliminating the storage of personal or account information on the phone itself or passing information through the POS system.

Future POS writes point-of-sale software designed for the hospitality industry. Future POS is installed in a number of restaurants including fine dining, quick serve, retail and other specialty applications. Some of the Future POS feautures include: digital signage, surveillance, tableside ordering, IPADs for handhelds, TabbedOut for smartphones, online ordering and end-to-end encryption.

Paydiant is the provider of a cloud-based, white label mobile payment, cardless ATM access, offer redemption and loyalty platform that enables merchants, banks and payment processors to deploy and manage their own mobile payment and ATM access solutions under their own brand and on their own terms.

In recent news, Paydiant has raised USD15 million in a funding round led by North Bridge Venture Partners, General Catalyst Partners, Stage 1 Ventures and two of Paydiants customers.
