Friday 20 September 2013 14:33 CET | News

German mobile payments services provider payleven has signed an agreement with financial institution Poste Italiane which makes the payleven mobile card payment services available for all clients of Banco Posta in Italy.

Using the payleven chip and PIN card reader, SMEs as well as freelancers can accept debit and credit cards through an app on their smartphone or tablet.

Chip and PIN supports small and medium sized businesses, including tradesmen, taxi drivers and retailers. To use the service, customers have to go to a post office or Banco Posta and sign up with payleven. After a few days they will receive their chip and PIN device and are set to be able to accept debit as well as credit cards. Users are required to have an existing BancoPosta account in order to use the service.

The payleven chip and PIN device transforms a smartphone or tablet into a portable card terminal. It is connected via Bluetooth to an iPhone, iPad or other Android devices and allows payments acceptance.

In recent news, payleven has launched its chip and PIN technology in Belgium.
