German mobile payments services provider payleven has been authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) as a payment institution.

This accreditation was issued due to security standards being met by payleven’s mobile chip and PIN device and overall payment solution.

In addition, payleven has become part of MasterCard’s mPOS program which provides guidance and best practices to mobile point-of-sale solution providers and merchants to help small businesses and retailers use their mobile devices as secure POS payment terminals. The program provides clarity as to how mPOS solutions should be developed and deployed by establishing MasterCard Mobile POS Best Practices.

payleven’s chip and PIN device, is a gadget that links to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. Customers enter their PIN on the keypad of the device to conduct mobile payments. In recent news, payleven has made its chip and PIN service available across Europe.
