US electronic payments services provider Payment Data Systems (PDS) has launched its iRemotePay application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.

iRemotePay, when coupled with a compatible card reader and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, enables merchants to process credit cards, ACH payments (e-cheques) and cash over cellular or Wi-Fi networks from remote locations and view these payment transactions while on-the-go. It operates as a point-of-sale (POS) terminal.

iRemotePay features include: payment processing, internet based reporting, back office support for corporate office or remote personnel, integrated telephone and Web based transaction reporting through PDS back-office applications and other.

Payment Data Systems is an integrated payment services provider to merchants, billers, banks, service bureaus and card issuers. In June 2012, Payment Data Systems has selected Futurex, a provider of data encryption security solutions, for the latter’s Excrypt SSP9000 hardware security module.
