Monday 8 July 2013 10:22 CET | News

PayPal France has rolled out PayPal Mobile Reload, a new service that enables consumers to use their PayPal account to reload the mobile phones of friends and family in more than 60 countries through 200 mobile network operators.

PayPal Mobile Reload has been developed in partnership with airtime transfer services provider TransferTo, an Ingenico company. Users looking to access the new offering have to go to PayPal Mobile Reload, select the recipient’s country, enter the recipient’s mobile phone number, the amount they want to send to their mobile phone, and finally, pay with PayPal. The mobile phone is reloaded instantly.

Once the reload has been completed, the sender receives an email from PayPal confirming the transaction and the recipient receives a text message. PayPal Mobile Reload is currently only available to users looking to transfer airtime from a French account.

In recent news, PayPal has entered an agreement with Gravity Payments, a US-based credit card processor, to enable PayPal card acceptance at Gravity Payments over 10,000 participating merchant locations.
