Paytoo, XY Prepago to develop mobile payments in Ecuador

Mobile wallet platform Paytoo has entered a partnership with XY Prepago, the technology operator of the transactional platform technology of G-Tel Group, a mobile operator in Ecuador. Under terms of the agreement, Paytoo and XY Prepago are set to develop the joint provision of telecommunications services and mobile wallet from mobile phones in Ecuador.

The alliance is set to provide Ecuadorian clients with access to mobile commerce and international telecommunications services supported by an integrated platform of prepaid debit cards and virtual credit cards

Users will be able to make local and international long distance calls, transfer credits, pay bills, pay merchants and check their account balance, as well as withdraw money in real-time.

XY Prepago and Paytoo have worked together to offer Ecuador a universal mobile wallet solution that includes a suite of telecom services, an international GSM SIM card, used instead of the regular carrier card, which will allow clients to make calls, send SMS messages and have access to voicemail in over 230 countries worldwide.

Also, Paytoo customers will receive a pre-paid Visa card that can be used to make purchases online and by phone.
