US financial institution Regions Bank has introduced its Personal Pay person-to-person payments service, powered by ZashPay from Fiserv, a global provider of financial services technology services Fiserv. Regions Bank is the subsidiary of US-based provider of consumer and commercial banking services Regions Financial

With ZashPay, users can send money to anyone in the US using the recipients name and e-mail address or mobile phone number. The payment is deducted directly from the senders banking account and deposited directly into the recipients account, utilizing the same secure processes as an online banking transaction.

Recipients of funds are alerted via email or SMS about claiming their payments and the sender receives an email confirmation once a payment is made. Current Regions Online Banking customers are automatically enrolled in the new service, while for non-Regions customers the one-time enrollment with ZashPay allows them to receive payments through the system automatically.

Regions Financial currently counts USD 132 billion in assets. Regions Bank operates over 1,800 banking offices and 2,200 ATMs across the US.
