Wednesday 21 August 2013 11:58 CET | News

US mobile commerce platform provider ROAM Data, a subsidiary of French-based provider of payment services Ingenico, has had its RP350x Chip and Sign mobile card reader certified as Visa Ready.

The RP350x can support magnetic stripe credit and debit cards as well as EMV chip-based cards. By adopting the Visa Ready RP350x from ROAM, merchants can process payments in both ways and be ready for the October 2015 liability shift from card issuers to merchants’ acquirers.

ROAM sells the RP350x reader via its global network of acquirers, financial institutions, independent sales organizations (ISOs) and payment service providers (PSPs). ROAM’s technology powers mobile point of sale (mPOS) services for a number of retailers, acquirers and PSPs. ROAM provides its customers with card readers, mobile applications, management and development tools, as well as professional services for custom integrations and white labeling.

In recent news, ROAM Data has entered an agreement with acquirer iPayment.
