Sage Pay launches mobile card payment service in the UK

Friday 4 May 2012 11:51 CET | News

UK-based payment services provider Sage Pay has launched a new mobile payment service for small businesses dubbed Sage Pay Mobile.

The Sage Pay Mobile service enables businesses without a fixed location to accept card payments using mobile phones to authorise transactions. The handheld terminal connects to merchants’ smartphones via Bluetooth and encrypts the data from customers’ cards at source.

The service was developed in collaboration with payments specialist UK card-not-present, e-commerce and contactless payment transactions processor CreditCall and hardware supplier Thyron.
