Under the agreement, merchants with Extenda’s POS system are set to be able to connect to SEQR via Extenda’s standard integration and enable their customers to pay with their mobile phones.
The platform developed by Seamless, dubbed SEQR, handles money transfers between mobile phones. As part of the payment process, consumers scan a fixed QR code on the POS terminal to authorise the deduction of the purchase sum from their bank accounts or available credit lines. The QR code identifies the terminal that is connected to the Seamless transaction switch, allowing consumers to pay directly via the mobile phone.
In recent news, Swedish food retailer Axfood has entered an agreement with Seamless to test Seamless’s SEQR payment service at two of its stores.
