SEB launches Swish mobile payments service

Sweden-based insurance and financial services provider Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) has launched a mobile payments service dubbed Swish in collaboration with financial institutions Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Länsförsäkringar Bank, Nordea, Swedbank and Sparbankerna.

Swish enables private individuals to send money by connecting their mobile phone numbers to bank accounts. To use the service, customers need a smartphone, the safety solution mobile Bank ID and the Swish application.

In November 2011, (SEB) revealed plans to sell its Ukraine-based retail business to European banking group Eurobank Group.
