Sicap provides African operators with mobile money ATM options

Tuesday 30 March 2010 15:12 CET | News

African mobile services provider Sicap has rolled out a series of mobile money services available on specifically designed ATMs.

The ATMs can be deployed as a prepaid credit channel to the 95 percent African mobile users who use prepaid subscriptions and top up on a daily basis. They can also be used for money remittance services with cash withdrawals enabled, or connected to CRM platforms for automated customer care, as well as set up as a means for the unbanked to settle their utility bills.

No bank account or card is required since the cash transactions will be processed through the customer’s mobile account.

Sicap is a provider of mobile software services that intends to adapt the ATM service offer to local African markets.
