Splash Mobile Money was founded in 2008 and it operates across all three GSM networks in Sierra Leone. The company currently has approximately 90,000 registered users with more than USD 2 million of transactions being processed per month. These transactions include person-to-person money transfers, corporate payroll and other business disbursements, microfinance loan disbursements and repayments, retail point-of-sale purchases, airtime top-up and remote payments for bills and fees.
Oberthur Technologies was founded in 1984 as a technology provider. The company delivers systems development, smart cards services including payment cards, SIM cards, access cards, NFC and secure identity documents. The company also offers solutions such as the Smart PIN, where the customer receives his banking card PIN via SMS.
