Global financial services provider Standard Bank is set to expand its mobile banking and payment services across Africa, online media outlet businessday.co.za reports.

According to the source, Standard Bank is set to provide mobile banking services to Africa’s unbanked population by using a mobile payments platform developed locally. Nigeria is one of the African markets targeted by the bank, where it operated as Stanbic IBTC, one of the seven banks which had been awarded a licence to provide mobile payment services, a company representative has revealed.
