Starbucks rolls out enhanced mobile payments app for Android devices in the UK and Canada

US international coffee company Starbucks has rolled out its enhanced mobile application for Android-powered devices in the UK and Canada.

Customers who download or update to the Starbucks mobile application for Android in Canada and the UK are set to be able to access services including Starbucks Card mobile payment, store locator, My Starbucks Rewards stars, check balance and reload, PIN code protection, as well as widget and balance transfer functionalities.

Additionally, US customers who download or update to the enhanced Starbucks mobile application for Android are set to have access to a widget, PayPal support, PIN code protection as well as view the My Starbucks Rewards history dashboard.

The Starbucks mobile application for Android allows customers in the US, UK and Canada to pay for purchases at participating Starbucks stores with their mobile devices, pay and reload their Starbucks cards via PayPal, manage card accounts, manage and check their My Starbucks Rewards status, as well as find nearby Starbucks stores.

In recent news, Starbucks has seen the number of transactions carried out via its mobile channel reach 42 million since the beginning of 2011 when its mobile payments program was launched.
