Monday 4 November 2013 00:39 CET | News

Switzerland-based mobile network operator, Swisscom has teamed up with LEGIC Identsystems which developed IDConnect solution to allow application servers to install applications of a contactless card onto a NFC-capable telephone and Kaba, which will update digital credentials on mobile phones equipped with NFC. The partnership is set to develop a platform for NFC services of different card issuers under the name ‘Tapit’.

Under the terms of the partnership, the three companies are set to create a mobile ecosystem for the Swiss ID market which allows customers to have access control, time and attendance recording or make financial transactions using NFC solutions. The Tapit application is set to enable customers to use their mobile phones to make both payments as well as use it to access building.

The Tapit application is set to be launched in 2014.

In May 2013, US online mobile payments company Boku has entered a carrier billing partnership with Swisscom with a connection to the MNO’s direct billing API.
