ViVOtech, a US-based provider of NFC-enabled mobile payments, has inked a contract with payments technology company Teletech Middle East.

Under the terms of the agreement, Teletech is set to use ViVOtech’s Trusted Services Manager (TSM) and Over-The-Air (OTA) provisioning platform as well as the ViVOtech NFC mobile wallet software in its NFC Add-On mobile payment service, set to be launched in the Middle East before the end of 2010.

The service is expected to allow cardholders to download credit, debit and prepaid cards securely ove-the-air to existing smartphone handsets such as BlackBerry deviced and the iPhone 3G, 3Gs and 4G models which will be enabled with NFC add-on devices like micro SD cards or smart sleeves. Once the handset has been personalized, customers will be able to make payments using their smartphone devices at multiple contactles-enabled merchant locations in the UAE.

In recent news, ViVOtech has joined forces with global electronic payments software developer Bell ID to roll out integrated Trusted Service Manager (TSM) mobile services for NFC handsets.
