US-based mobile-based online payments services provider Text2Pay has enabled Rogers, Bell, Fido and Telus Canadian customers to use its mobile billing platform to pay for virtual goods and online content from participating merchants.

Text2Pay offers mobile payments using two-factor authentication in a bid to reduce fraud. The company allows consumers to pay for virtual goods and services by using their mobile phone. Text2Pay is backed by mBill, a mobile billing company which provides mobile marketing and billing solutions to customers globally.

The company’s mobile billing platform, which offers carrier coverage in over 50 countries worldwide, enables end users to pay for goods online with a text message transaction on their mobile phones.

In May 2011 , Text2Pay rolled out its proprietary mobile payments platform dubbed Text2Pay.
