US-based electronic payment services provider VeriFone has entered an agreement with owner and operator of customer convenience stores Valero Retail Holdings to implement VeriFone’s Paymedia for Secure PumpPAY in an initial pilot at corporate-operated sites in the Austin, Texas, area.

VeriFone Secure PumpPAY offering enables gasoline retailers and distributors to retrofit gasoline dispensers with EMV-capable, PCI payment systems.

Paymedia Solutions provides small to medium-sized merchants with the checkout capability which includes the integration of online services such as digital couponing, loyalty, location-based social media and services.

Paymedia is built on VeriFone’s PAYware Connect gateway services and combines traditional payment authorization with non-traditional payment-enabled media and services which accommodate consumer mobile phones. Paymedia is PCI compliant via VeriShield Total Protect, an encryption and tokenization service.

In recent news, VeriFone has launched couponing services for its Paymedia customers as part of the VeriFone Digital Network (VNET). The services include on-demand coupons at the pump and promotions at the c-store checkout counter.
