Irish-based authentication technology provider ValidSoft has joined the Mobile Payments Committee of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), an international trade association representing over 500 companies who provide electronic transaction processing products and services.

The Mobile Payments Committee is a task force that includes representatives from US carriers, as well as other developers of mobile payments services. The committee was created to help develop key policy and business strategies for the overall advancement of the mobile payments industry.

ValidSoft is a subsidiary of Elephant Talk Communications and provides services to counter electronic fraud relating to card, the internet and telephone channels. ValidSofts services are used to verify the authenticity of both parties to a transaction (Mutual Authentication) and the integrity of the transaction itself (Transaction Verification) for the mass market.

In recent news, Socure, a US-based identity and reputation applications developer, has inked a contract with ValidSoft. Under the terms of the partnership, Socure will implement Validsoft’s security architecture Secure Mobile Architecture for Real-Time Transactions (SMART) to underpin its security offerings in social networks.
