Vend POS enters agreement with PayPal

Vend, a web-based point-of-sale (POS) and retail management software, has entered a definitive agreement with PayPal.

Under the terms of the deal, Vend is set to launch an update for its iPad app which enables PayPal-powered credit and debit processing, in addition to mobile payments through the PayPal app. Brick and mortar retailers can sign up for Vend online, connect a PayPal account and start accepting traditional credit and debit card payments as well as PayPal mobile payments.

Vend is participating in PayPals Cash for Registers program that incentivizes merchants to retire their old cash registers and switch to a modern point-of-sale system.

Vend provides cloud-based POS software that enables merchants to sell products, accept payment, track inventory and reward customer loyalty. Vend integrates with retail hardware as well as other cloud-based business apps partners and online market places such as Xero, Shopify, Ebay, Stitch and others.

In recent news, PayPal has entered an agreement with Canada-based restaurant management services provider TouchBistro. Under the terms of the deal, customers are able to use their smartphone to check-in and pay with PayPal at cafés and restaurants at the point-of-sale.
