Visa and US financial services provider Chexar Networks have launched a network platform to enable Visa prepaid users to deposit paper cheques to their reloadable Visa prepaid cards using their mobile devices, by snapping a photo of a paper cheque.

Powered by Chexar’s technology, including its remote deposit capture platform, the service provides Visa cardholders with access to funds on their Visa prepaid cards. The platform will support cheque deposits to Visa cards, funds transfers between Direct Deposit Accounts (DDAs) and payment cards, person-to-person payments and bill payment services whether in-person, online, on a mobile device or at an ATM.

Chexar Networks provides services to US underbanked consumers, including cheque cashing, money transfers, bill payment, money orders, mobile top-ups and prepaid cards. Clear Payments provides payment processing services as well as e-commerce solutions, credit building, credit reporting and other.

In recent news, financial institution PNC Bank and Visa have entered an agreement to make V.me by Visa available to more than 1.2 million PNC Virtual Wallet customer accounts, with a commitment to make V.me available to more than 6.3 million accounts in 2013.
