ViVOtech closes USD 24 million in additional Series C funding

US-based provider of NFC-enabled mobile payments ViVOtech has closed USD 24 million in a multi-stage extension to its Series C round of funding.

The additional funding has featured new investors, including EDBI, SingTel Innov8 and Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. In addition, ViVOtech’s current financial and strategic investors have also joined the round, namely Alloy Ventures, Citi Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurveston, DFJ Gotham, First Data Corporation, Miven Ventures, Motorola Mobility, Nokia Growth Partners and NCR.

With the new funds, ViVOtech is planning to expand its services into more countries beyond the 35 where the company’s NFC software and systems are currently used.

In recent news, US-based provider of NFC software and systems Sequent Software has selected ViVOtech to provide Trusted Service Manager (TSM) for NFC-based mobile payments.
