ViVOtech, DeviceFidelity team for smartphone mobile wallet solution

Wednesday 8 September 2010 11:27 CET | News

ViVOtech, a US-based provider of NFC-enabled mobile payments, has joined forces with US-based mobile contactless payments services provider DeviceFidelity. Under the deal, the two companies are set to launch a service that brings contactless mobile payment, loyalty, transit, ticketing and coupon redemption capabilities to smartphone users.

The partnership will allow the integration of ViVOtech’s mobile wallet software into DeviceFidelity’s NFC-enabled In2Pay microSD and In2Pay Case iPhone technology. By plugging the In2Pay microSD into their smartphones, users will be able to download multiple credit and debit cards securely to their handsets and use their phones to perform contactless transactions at merchants located worldwide.

Moreover, with the new solution consumers can download merchants’ loyalty, gift and prepaid cards and customize these cards to automatically redeem loyalty points and take advantage of discounts. Consumers can also request electronic coupons and discount offers, store them in their mobile wallets and electronically redeem them at the time of purchase.

Available to financial institutions and wireless carriers globally, the joint solution can be deployed on most smartphones, including multiple Blackberry models, the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs.
