ViVOtech picks Voltage Security for NFC payment terminal encryption

Thursday 12 August 2010 10:34 CET | News

ViVOtech, a US-based provider of NFC-enabled mobile payments, has signed an agreement with global encryption and data protection services company Voltage Security. Under the terms of the contract, ViVOtech will deploy a Voltage-powered encryption point-of-sales (POS) system in its ViVOpay line of contactless NFC payment terminals.

Voltages Format-Preserving Encryption (FPE) and Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) technologies, which will be implemented into ViVOtech’s payment platform, are expected to simplify the latter’s deployment and administration of the encryption process.

ViVOtech has also signed up for Voltage’s SecureData Open License Program in order to provide merchant partners with more data protection solutions and facilitate the implementation of encryption and tokenization technology on its POS devices, Electronic Cash Registers (ECRs), mobile payment devices as well as e-commerce payment platforms.
