Global provider of payment and risk services WorldPay has accredited Australian technology company Mint Wireless to provide mobile payment services in the UK and Ireland, online media outlet proactiveinvestors.com.au reports.

According to the same source, Mint Wireless’ mobile Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) service is set to be made available to retailers, as well as to small businesses across the UK and Ireland. Furthermore, consumers will be able to acquire transport tickets through the same service and businesses that have a WorldPay merchant account will be able to process EMV chip and PIN mobile payment transactions.

WorldPay is set to authorise and settle transactions through the Mint Managed Payment Services via mobile devices and terminals.

In November 2011, WorldPay entered a merchant acquiring deal with Diners Club International (DCI), a business unit of Discover Financial Services, to increase the acceptance of Discover and Diners Club cards across the UK.
