Zain Group, a Kuwait-based telecommunication company, active in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, is set to add services to let customers pay for digital goods through their monthly bill.

The solution, provided by carrier biller SLA Mobile, is set to enable customers to purchase applications across operating platforms such as Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

The solution will launch in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Saudi Arabia initially, with Iraq, South Sudan and Sudan to follow.

In June 2012, cashU, an online payment provider, has entered an agreement with Zain to provide the latter’s customers with a method to shop online without using credit cards.
