Allied Irish Banks selects Gemalto for online banking service

Irish financial institution Allied Irish Banks (AIB) has inked a contract with Dutch digital security company Gemalto to deploy the latter’s Ezio offering to provide additional security features to its online banking services.

As part of the multi-year contract, Gemalto is expected to deliver the Ezio offering including authentication software, Ezio Club EMV card readers as well as consulting services. In addition to generating one-time-passwords, the Ezio Club reader is used to verify and sign transaction details, such as amount transferred and account credited.

Around 50 million online banking customers worldwide use Gemalto’s Ezio technology.

In other news , Stockholm Public Transport has selected Gemalto to deploy its AllAboutMe service to design customized travel cards online. Gemalto’s AllAboutMe service includes online purchase and web plug-in, contactless card production, image verification, personalization and printing as well as delivery to the cardholder.
