Bank Leumi adds voice biometrics-powered password reset service to e-banking portal

Israeli financial services provider Bank Leumi has teamed up with voice biometrics company PerSay to integrate the latter’s biometric speaker verification function into its online banking portal. Thus, Bank Leumi’s internet banking platform will rely relies on voice biometrics technology when it comes to resetting customers’ passwords.

This deployment aims to enhance the security of web sites and web-based transactions by enabling multi-factor authentication. While current authentication processes mostly rely on information provided by customers, the new process adds biometrics into the authentication process.

The use of voice biometrics also provides an effective risk management tool and eliminates the need to give away personal information over the phone.
