hyperWALLET, TransferTo team up for mobile airtime top-up services in Canada

Tuesday 9 March 2010 10:52 CET | News

Global payment services provider hyperWALLET has teamed up with global airtime transfer company TransferTo to release a mobile airtime top-up service for the Canadian market. The service is mainly offered to foreign communities, international workers and visitors who maintain strong ties with their families and relatives abroad.

The joint hyperWALLET / TransferTo service is set to offer customers the option to electronically send airtime credits to mobile phones, across more than 70 wireless carriers in 25 countries worldwide. The service is powered by platform technology integration achieved in the wake of the agreement between hyperWALLET and TransferTo.

Canadian clients have to sign up at www.hyperwallet.com or use the hyperWALLET service within their Credit Unions online banking website in order to be able to access the application. Once their hyperWALLET account has been funded, senders must enter the desired mobile phone number, a greeting message, and select from the available airtime voucher amounts. After the transaction has been performed, both sender and receiver are notified by an SMS text message.

Airtime credits can also be sent from mobile devices that feature mobile browsers. Moreover, hyperWALLET intends to develop an SMS command interface capability for its users.
