Tuesday 24 April 2012 08:52 CET | News

Indian financial institution HDFC Bank has teamed up with financial services provider Wells Fargo to allow US-based non-residents to remit funds online or via mobile devices to their beneficiaries in India.

In order to be able to use the remittance capability, US-based customers have to complete their first transaction at a Wells Fargo branch. Subsequent transactions can be conducted through Wells Fargo’s website or via Wells Fargo phone bank portal. Funds are afterwards sent to HDFC Bank for credit.

Wells Fargo provides banking, insurance, investments, mortgage, consumer and commercial finance via over 9,000 stores, 12,000 ATMs, online and other distribution channels across North America and internationally.

HDFC Bank was founded in 1995 and it provides financial products and services to its customers across India using distribution channels including a pan-India network of branches, ATMs, phone banking, net banking and mobile banking.
