Irish Life & Permanent partners Cryptomathic for authentication services

Friday 18 June 2010 09:22 CET | News

Financial services provider Irish Life & Permanent (IL&P) has selected Cryptomathic’s two-factor authentication solution for its remote banking channels.

Cryptomathic Authenticator is a vendor neutral and adaptable two-factor authentication solution, which fights sophisticated online attacks, such as phishing, and supports over ten different authentication mechanisms. IL&P will implement the solution to secure the initialisation of payments via its Open24 internet banking platform and GTX telephone banking system.

IL&P selected the SMS token to send one-time-passwords (OTPs) to customers via their mobile phones. The OTP is delivered to the customer ‘out-of-band’ and not through the existing user interface network, such as an internet banking application.
