Raiffeisen International to roll our online banking arm in Eastern Europe

Austrian financial services provider Raiffeisen International is planning to launch a direct banking arm to provide its customers in selected Eastern European countries with access to internet banking services, the AFP reports.

The online bank, which is set to be headquartered in Vienna, is expected to launch in 2010 and target internet-savvy retail customers in selected central and Eastern European states. According to the same source, which quotes a Raiffeisen International representative, the online bank will initially focus on deposit products.
