Rwanda: BCR rolls out new e-banking services

The Commercial Bank of Rwanda (BCR) has introduced new online and mobile banking services.

The package includes various services, such as money transfer, request of cheque books, payment water and power bills, airtime purchase and monitoring of loan repayment. The new services have been made available to all BCR clients.

BCR provides personal banking services, including deposit accounts, personal loans, ATM services and wire transfer services as well as business and online banking services. As of April 2010, Actis Capital, a UK-based private equity investment firm, owns 80% of BCR and the Rwanda Government owns the remaining 20%.
