SafetyPay, a global online payments services company, has entered a partnership with Braspag, a Brazilian payment processing company for e-commerce and call centers, in a bid to expand its presence in Brazil.

Under the terms of the agreement, SafetyPay is set to offer its payment processing services via Braspag’s merchant network. Braspag integrates payment methods and consolidates technical, financial and operational processes, covering 80 percent of the total e-commerce retailers in Brazil.

SafetyPay was created to assist financial institutions in monetizing their online banking platforms by providing a direct payment method between a consumer’s bank and the retailer of choice. SafetyPay’s payment service links the customer directly to their online banking account when carrying out a purchase.

Most recently, SafetyPay has signed an agreement with financial services provider Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BNCR), adding one million banking customers to the SafetyPay network.

SafetyPay activates in a number of countries in Europe and Latin America and has access to more than 90 million bank customers worldwide.
