SIBOS: Citi rolls out CitiDirect BE collaborative online banking platform for institutions

Wednesday 16 September 2009 09:38 CET | News

Financial services company Citi has officially launched CitiDirect BE, its collaborative online banking platform for institutions.

Building on the CitiDirect Online Banking platform first introduced in 1999, the CitiDirect BE is based on a service-oriented architecture (SOA) and open standards. It aims to provide additional functionalities beyond traditional transaction management and reporting and will include analytics and user-generated content capabilities, a media/video channel as well as Citis Electronic Bank Account Management (eBAM) module.

CitiDirect BE makes these tools available via multiple delivery channels, including a web portal, web services, straight-through connectivity via SWIFT or the internet as well as mobile devices.

Editors notes: Citi’s decision to roll out a corporate internet banking platform that includes user-generated contents capabilities is indicative of a wider trend. This emerges as banks begin to acknowledge that corporate customers now regard that online banking as an integrated experience and rely on banks to provide them with extended online tools and information via multiple delivery channels.
