Software security company Vasco has launched the new version of its Digipass CertiID strong user authentication and digital signatures client software suite. Digipass CertiID now combines one time password (OTP) and PKI technology to sign transactions or confidential documents. It addresses specific needs for authentication in banks, enterprises and governments.

DIGIPASS CertiID allows computers to be locked, files and disks to be encrypted, e-mail and data transactions to be signed. OTP functionality has been added to the new version of DigipassCertiID. PKI and OTP are both managed by one platform, using a single device. The combination of PKI and OTP on one device allows companies to use OTP for specific applications, such as remote access and applications log-on to applications, while at the same time PKI can be used for other applications, such as document signing and file encryption.

When combining the use of PKI with OTP, customers will need to install Vascos authentication server technology (Vacman Controller, Vacman Middelware or Identikey) to provide event and time-based OTP capability next to PKI-functionality. The new version of Digipass CertiID offers response only and challenge/response OTP functionality.

Digipass CertiID is also available as a software development kit, allowing integrators and application developers to natively integrate PKI functionality into their application.
