Vietnamese bank deploys online banking security certificate from VeriSign

Vietnamese financial services provider The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has teamed up with US network infrastructure operator VeriSign, online news outlet vietnamnews.com reports.

Under the terms of the deal, BIDV is set to deploy VeriSign’s Extended Validation SSL Certificates to protect its online banking customers. The bank’s decision comes as an increasing number of Vietnamese citizens are turning to the internet to carry out online banking.

BIDV is a state-owned commercial bank which providing currency, credit, banking and non-banking services, as well as domestic and international funding for development projects.
