Acculynk, EFT networks set up Internet PIN Debit Advisory Council

Tuesday 23 February 2010 09:36 CET | News

Acculynk, a US payment services provider, has established the Internet PIN Debit Advisory Council with its partner EFT networks, including ACCEL/Exchange, Alaska Option, Credit Union 24, Pulse and Shazam.

The Council will seek to establish the processes, procedures, rules and best practices around the company`s internet PIN debit service PaySecure. When paying with PaySecure at a merchant checkout, customers must enter their card number, expiration date and card verification number. After they submit the card information, PaySecure detects whether the card can be used with a PIN. If it can, Acculynks graphical PIN-pad appears at the merchant checkout, allowing the customers to enter their PIN.

The service was introduced in March 2009 in a pilot program that included ACCEL/Exchange and a number of small merchants. Belly, 2Checkout.com, Ace Hardware Outlet, AirTran, J.J. Buckley and ShoppersChoice are some of the online merchants which have already added PaySecure to their payment methods list.

Membership in the Council is currently open to EFT networks that have partnered with Acculynk for PaySecure, but also to e-commerce merchants, acquirers and senior executives in payment processing.
