Friday 17 December 2010 09:36 CET | News

US-based developer of PIN authentication platforms for debit transactions Adaptive Payments has inked an agreement with US alternative payments services provider CardinalCommerce.

Under the deal, the two companies are expected to merge their platforms for the delivery of Adaptive Payments payment authentication services for e-commerce sales. In addition, Adaptive Payments e-commerce checkout product is set to be delivered as part of the Universal PIN Debit Service (UPDS) via the Cardinal Centinel platform, powered by CardinalCommerce.

Through Centinel technology, merchants can enable multiple authenticated and alternative payment brands, including Paymate. The Cardinal Centinel software authentication platform enables over 30,000 merchants and merchant service providers to use payment brands such as Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, Amazon Payments, as well as Bill Me Later and eBillme.

Adaptive Payments’ five-factor authentication service is designed to ensure payment security for PIN Debit CNP (card-not-present) transactions by separating sales and customer data introduced online from PIN or other authentication data acquired via the customer’s mobile or land line phone.
