Tuesday 14 June 2011 11:33 CET | News

German airline airberlin has entered an agreement with electronic payment and risk management systems developer Wirecard.

Under the terms of the deal, Wirecard Bank, part of the Wirecard group, which operates as a credit card acquirer, will provide the airline with technical payment processing and also perform part of the acquiring business.

Wirecard Bank offers private, corporate and e-banking services. The core business of the Wirecard Bank includes corporate and currency accounts, as well as the issue of charge cards within the scope of co-branding and customer retention projects. In February 2011, Wirecard acquired the Dubai-based card management services provider Procard Services.
