When selecting PaySecure at a merchant checkout, customers must enter their card number, expiration date and card verification number. After they submit the card information, PaySecure detects whether the card can be used with a PIN. If it can, Acculynks graphical PIN-pad appears at the merchant checkout, allowing the customers to enter their PIN. Acculynk’s graphical scrambling PIN pad has been developed for the entry of sensitive cardholder information. The PIN pad numbers appear on the purchaser’s computer monitor randomly and the numbers will re-arrange each time the cardholder clicks on a digit of the PIN.
Other participants in the online PIN debit pilot program include JPMorgan Chase, the credit union-owned ATM and POS network Credit Union 24, 2Checkout, Pulse and Chase Paymentech.
