Alibaba, Honda to develop online payments solution for connected cars

Honda Motor and Alibaba Group have signed an agreement to offer online services to drivers.

Through the jointly developed vehicles, Honda aims to launch the online payments service for fuel, parking and other services in China.

Global automakers are focusing on connected cars with internet access to provide drivers with online payments, shared traffic information and other advanced services. With this enhancement, Honda hope to attract more customers in China, an important auto market.

Furthermore, the two companies aim to strengthen connected car technology by adopting 5G for next-generation mobile communications.
