Alipay establishes new business units

Chinese Alibaba Groups online payment division Alipay has established three new business units, JLM Pacific Epoch reports, citing Donews.

The company has also revealed plans to recruit 700 workers in the fields of finance and technology in H2 2010. Alipay is the dominant third-party online payment platform in China with a 75 percent market share, according to research firm Analysys. On 15 March 2010, Alipay reached the 300 million user milestone. The company enables individuals and businesses to send and receive payments on the internet, using an escrow system that minimizes settlement.
