Amazon releases Android shopping application

Monday 10 August 2009 00:21 CET | News

Amazon.com has rolled out the Amazon App for Android mobile shopping application.

The shopping application for Android devices includes the Amazon Remembers feature, which enables Android users to use their device camera to track and remember products for sale on Amazon.com by either snapping the photo of the product or scanning a barcode for instant product matches. Thus, customers can make a list of photographs showing products they are interested in, make price comparisons across multiple merchants and buy products from Amazon.com.

Amazon Remembers is part of Amazon’s suite of shopping applications, such as the Amazon App for iPhone and iPod Touch, the Amazon App for BlackBerry and the Amazon App for Android. Amazon’s mobile shopping applications (iPhone, BlackBerry and Android) connects the customers to their Amazon.com account and regular shopping features. The latter include purchasing using Amazon’s 1-Click ordering and Amazon Prime, modifying orders with the Your Account feature, as well as access to customer reviews and to their Wish List.
