Argos selects PayPal as payment partner

Monday 24 January 2011 09:47 CET | News

UK-based retailer Argos has closed an agreement with global online payment services provider PayPal.

Under the terms of the deal, the Argos.co.uk customers who choose not to use payment cards online now have the option of paying with PayPal.

Argos has experience of being a PayPal merchant through the Argos Clearance Bargains, a sales channel on eBay focused on selling surplus stock of small consumer electronic products. Since the channels launch in February 2007, PayPal has processed payments for over 750,000 eBay marketplace transactions for Argos.

Argos serves over 135 million customers a year via its stores. On average, 17 million UK households, or around two thirds of the population, have an Argos catalogue at home at any time. With more than 94 million active accounts in 190 markets and 24 currencies around the world, PayPal enables global e-commerce.
