US alternative payments services provider CardinalCommerce has made available the Universal PIN Debit Solution (UPDS) service on its Cardinal Centinel e-commerce platform, to enable online PIN Debit payment services for internet merchants and their customers.

Conceived as an extension of Cardinal’s technology, the Cardinal Universal PIN Debit service is set to allow merchant users to process incoming online PIN-based debit transactions. As part of UPDS, Cardinal will enable the authentication that is specified by the issuer for their cardholders. UPDS can support any form of authentication that an issuer would choose to prescribe for their cardholders.

The scope of enabling PIN Debit in the virtual commerce channels includes plans to support secure PIN debit payment in the mobile channel, leveraging the technology of the Cardinal MAXTM Mobile Platform.

Through Centinel technology, merchants can enable multiple authenticated and alternative payment brands such as Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, Amazon Payments, Bill Me Later, ClickandBuy, Cred-Ex, Ebates, eBillme, eLayaway, Google Checkout, Green Dot MoneyPak, Mazooma, Moneta, Moneybookers, MyECheck, NACHA Secure Vault Payments (SVP), NYCE SafeDebit, OneTouch Online Purchasing, Paymate, PayPal, paysafecard, RevolutionCard, SafetyPay, TeleCheck, Ukash.
